Eighty-one Cage Chandeliers illuminate the ceiling of the Ballroom at the Edition Hotel in Waikiki. The chandeliers were designed in 3 sizes - 4', 4.5', and 5', each with a telescoping pipe to create staggered drop heights for drama. The fixture design resembles a bird cage with the lamping in the bottom portion of the fixture. Custom fabricated frosted acrylic bowls nested in the bottom of the cage diffuse the halogen and fluorescent lamping. The halogen and fluorescent lamps run on two circuits so the ballroom can have varying light levels for different functions, such as a romantic wedding ambiance or corporate lectures. The finish is a gun metal color that required polishing, several types of plating processes and finally a delicate hand sanding to give an antique impression.
Fixtures are customizable by size, finish, and lamping.
